The 2017 Maréchal Foch was machine-harvested on 9/21 at 18.5 Brix with a pH of 3.43. The fruit was de-stemmed, crushed and inoculated with BRL97. The fermentation lasted 9 days. The must was pressed and malolactic bacteria was added to the wine.
The Maréchal Foch is a notoriously pigmented grape variety and this vintage falls in line with those typical characteristics. Beautiful ruby hues stain the glass. The nose is bountiful with assorted berries: blackberry, strawberry, and blueberry. The palate is bright with acidity which highlights the fruity characteristics. This wine can be enjoyed at room temperature or slightly chilled.
